TWLOHA

TWLOHA stand for To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement that is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

the first time i came across TWLOHA was when one of their tweets was featured on Twitter's main page. i was not to say in a bad place, but more of in a bad time then. i had a lot of stress in school and at home with family and friends. i was starting to get scared and nervous about my exams and other stuff and i started to feel like i was the only one facing those problems cause from my eyes, everybody else seemed fine. the tweet that caught my eye was;

“Courage is like a muscle. We strengthen it with use.” – Ruth Gordon

i read it again and again and could really relate myself to it. and ever since, TWLOHA has really been there to help me go through a tough time, to understand people better, to inspire and also to make me feel like there are worst things that can happen.

what these people do are beautiful. they remind people like me, people like us, to be glad about what we have and not what we don't. i have been following their activities and are so amazed at the number of people that they have helped just by giving them something to think about. that love is a movement. that we should be glad we're alive.

up until this day, i find myself going to their website to read about the people they have helped, the lives they have changed and the hearts they have touched.

i'm just a student that can't donate much money but i know with the internet, i'm able to follow their activities and really give my 100% support. and that might not seem like much but i'm sure that its a start and i hope that someday, i'll be able to inspire people the same way. :)

so, here's to love, life and everything else that comes with it.
